here is my version of orangina by stefanie. not quite orange but more fuscha? it's definitely a "loud" color for me to wear but i was dying to knit something with more color - more bang! it turned out a little big -- the ribbing on the bottom is a 'lil loosey goosey and the shoulder seam draws attention to my flabby arms. overall i like it and i'll be sure to wear it during the hot humid summer days here in tokyo!
specs: pattern - orangina by stefanie japel
yarn - rowan cotton glace (shade 805)
needles - 3mm 60cm
check out these little booties for alexa.
spec: pattern: baby ugg booties from the diynetwork.
yarn: berroco suede (hopalong cassidy) and berocco plush
needles: size 4 and size 5
i caved and make the baby ugg booties. the pattern was simple and easy to follow. i'm a little worried about them staying alexa's feet. there was hardly any shaping around the leg and it looked a little big when i seamed the stitches together. i'll have to wait and see what alexa's mommy says. i added a little felted flower to both sides of the booties. my first time felting -- a little harder than i thought it would be. maybe i just need more practice! :D
next on the needles for me? after much carla-envy where it seemed like everyone was knitting it -- i so wanted to tackle it as well but couldn't get over the fact that there were sleeves! yikes. imma try it out! oy. first project with sleeves. hope it works out okay. i'm off to start my swatch!
happy momma's day! :D

I think your Orangina looks fabulous and I love that colour on you. congrats! BTW, your arms are totally NOT flabby!!

Your Orangina looks wonderful. I echo what Kat says - your arms aren't flabby at all! You look great in it.
I too am working on Orangina and I'm just not going to worry about the sad state of my upper arms.

lol - our oranginas are going to be exactly the SAME color! too funny. the sizing is a little wonky tho... i started making a medium and then frogged the whole thing to start again with a small. what size did you end up making? it looks great! and no flabby arms! silly.
i am SO exhausted from MSW. we got back last night at 10:30 after walking for 5 hrs and then *driving* for 5 hrs. blah... but it was SO much fun! pictures to come!

you're probably tire of hearing this, but your arms are NOT flabby ; ) orangina looks cute on you, and you're right, it's perfect to wear in hot, hot summer tokyo. the ugg boots are cute too, love the little flower. Little Alexa might as well learn now, doesn't matter if the shoe fits (or stays on), it's how great they make her look!

Orangina looks fabulous! How many balls of Cotton Glace did you use? I am still trying to decide how much yarn to buy for mine. Can't wait to get started!

nice orangina! i don't think it makes your arms look bad at all. nice pictures from golden week too! i had my own similar adventures down here in my neck of the woods. there's nothing like hiking around all day and then hitting the onsen!!

I was very pleased to find this site. This is an intelligent and well written article, you must have put a fair amount of research into writing this.
