i know i know...forever and a day since i've posted last. been busy doing little things, settling back into the groove. knowing that my family is just a drive away is the greatest feeling right now. a couple of weeks ago we spent in the north bay celebrating baby's 1st bday. yo bud, i "borrowed" this picture from you since i haven't been able to download my pics from my camera yet. 
it was extremely hot that weekend! but still WAY fun. yup. basically just hanging out with the family - spending some down time with c, trying to enjoy a few weeks of unemployment. we're planning a mini trip down south to visit some friends and family in a few weeks.
and knitting...
yes, i have been knitting. i finished a pair of ankle socks for my sock pal in cascade fixation with the cuff trimming in taupe and the main color in ecru. i really liked fixation - stretchy, scrunchy and kinda fun to knit with. i'm working on a second pair for my sock pal. it's from knit socks! by betsy mccarthy. the pattern is straight-laced and i'm knitting it up with fortissima socka in the prettiest light blue. this is my first easy lace sock and i like the way it's turning out. i've just turned the heel of the first sock. i'd share some pics but...well...you know the story...
oh! but i did buy the yarn at commuknity which is located off the alameda in san jose. what a BEAUTIFUL store! gah! rows and rows of rowan and debbie bliss and manos del uraguay (which was the first time i've ever seen/felt in person!). it was funny because even c was impressed when he walked in. heehee...he was most impressed with the manos del uraguay by the way it felt and the colors. funny. i am looking forward to spending more time there - i just have to find a job to start paying for the yarn i'm about to buy! :D
